Mr. Donald W. Blaine, 81, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away 3:59 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home. 

He was born September 7, 1939 in Galesburg to Donald F. and Louise A. (Moore) Blaine.  He married Faylene J. (Conard) Bower, August 22, 1981 in Galesburg.  She recently passed away on October 23, 2020. 

Surviving is a son, Scott Bower of Champaign, Illinois, three daughters, Yvonne Bower of Galesburg, Heidi (and Stephen) Roach of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Amber (and Jeff) Taylor of Galesburg, and eight grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Don graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956.  He attended Allied Tool and Dye, Inc.  He was a Carman for Burlington Northern/ Santa Fe Rail Road for 41 years and retired September 30, 2002.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Galesburg.  Don was an excellent bowler.  He bowled on several area leagues and competed in multiple PBA bowling tournaments across the United States.  He was the first left handed bowler to roll a 300 at Northgate Lanes.  He also enjoyed baseball where he coached several teams in Galesburg Little League and Junior Hardball for over 35 years.  Don was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed having early morning coffee with his friends.   

With the recent passing of his wife, Faylene, there will be a visitation for both of them from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, November, 2, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating.  They will also share funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Galesburg where social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating.  Rev. Vince Rohn and Rev. Mary Runge will officiate.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Galesburg Youth Baseball.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
