Ms. Ethel Jean Mosley, 77, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:48 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. 

She was born August 28, 1943 in Forest City, Arkansas to Jerry T. and Bennie Ruth (Page) Wiley.  She married Melvin E. Mosley, Sr., June 9, 1963 in Forest City, Arkansas. 

Surviving is a son, Melvin E. (and Mary) Mosley, Jr. of Elgin, Illinois, a daughter, Carol D. Mosley of Galesburg; three sisters, Martha Ann (and Booker) Brooks, Jeri (and Chris) Seay, and Gail Wiley, all of Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Ethel graduated from Lincoln High School in Arkansas in 1962.  She was a Mental Health Tech 4 at Galesburg and Elgin Mental Research Hospitals.  She was also a supervisor at the Carver Transitions Center in Galesburg.  She was a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club in Knox County.  She was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Galesburg where she was a Stewardess and a member of the Cecilia Malone Society.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, loved music and dancing. 

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the chapel with Pastor James Haley officiating.  Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
