Mrs. Faylene Jane Blaine, 72, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away 3:57 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. 

She was born August 14, 1948 in Brady, Texas to Saylor E.C. and Beryl E. (French) Conard.  She married Donald W. Blaine, August 22, 1981 in Galesburg who recently passed away on October 29, 2020. 

Surviving is a son, Scott Bower of Champaign, Illinois, three daughters, Yvonne Bower of Galesburg, Heidi (and Stephen) Roach of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Amber (and Jeff) Taylor of Galesburg, two sisters, Sheryl Bacon of Galesburg, and Twyla Magnison of Galesburg, and eight grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Faylene graduated from Galesburg High School in 1966.  She received her associate’s degree in Arts from Canton Junior College in 1968 and an associate’s degree in Nursing from Carl Sandburg College in 1975.  She was a registered Nurse at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg for 35 years and retired December 25, 2010.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Galesburg where she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir.  Along with singing in her church, she sang with her mother and two sisters in Sweet Adelines and was a member of Choral Dynamics in Galesburg.  She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, crewel, cross stitching, reading, playing cards, bird watching, and photography. 

Cremation was accorded as Faylene requested.  With the recent passing of her husband, Donald, there will be a visitation for both of them from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, November, 2, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating.  They will also share funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at First United Methodist Church in Galesburg where social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating..  Rev. Vince Rohn and Rev. Mary Runge will officiate.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Heifer International.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
