Lincoln Early Childhood is preparing for the hybrid schedule to begin on October 26th and Principal Joe Pilger says they are working on how to find solutions to some of their concerns:
“Like anybody, the social distancing, the mask wearing, and the hand washing, those are three huge components to make this work and to keep everyone safe. That is something we are going to be instilling to our students and practicing. We are going to be practicing hand washing, practicing good hygiene, practicing mask wearing, and keeping six feet apart so that way we can keep the little ones safe. So that is definitely weighing heavy on my mind. I think we will get there and we will be able to do it. Then the balancing of in-person learning and remote learning simultaneously. I think our teachers have proven that they can rise to any challenge you throw at them. This first quarter of remote learning, while there were challenges, and while we had hiccups, we totally jumped over them and got through it and came out better in the end. I think teachers continue to prove that they can do anything that we ask them to,” Pilger shares.
Pilger says school begins at 8:30 am with dismissal at 12:30 pm. There will be a different door for Kindergarten students to dismiss as well as a separate door for First grade students to keep social distancing. Lunch and breakfast will be served outside of school and assorted PPE will be made available for staff and teachers.
Students will be in two different groups; Group A will be on Monday and Tuesday while Group B will be Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be an all remote learning day.
