Our Community Stronger Together. This year has been anything but ordinary and Jamieson Community Center has put together some action steps in having the Monmouth community come together stronger in these uncertain times. Director Nancy Mowen has more:
“Each person who lives here adds value to our community. As part of our community, I will: acknowledge people, notice one positive thing about each person, spread kindness, and perform an intentional act of kindness each day. That is the first part. The second part is that sharing ideas connects and strengthens this community. When I have a conversation I will: explore shared values and start with an area of agreement, keep my focus on the other person, listen to understand and gain knowledge, and ask clarifying questions like ‘How did you come to this idea?’ or ‘Can you tell me more?’ We all can take steps to strengthen our community,” Mowen states.
