Tough, cold weather could not dime the success of the Fall Family FUNdrive at Jensen Woods Camp. Carloads of families enjoyed a tour of the camp, while kids safely collected candy and learned about fun activities at Jensen. Many enjoyed a hayrack ride through the Hidden Pines Haunted trail, courtesy of the Camp Point United Methodist Church’s youth group. A sacked meal was enjoyed on picnic tables or as a carry out and smiling kids decorated pumpkins to take home. Many first time visitors planned their next visit.
The two-day event could not have happened without the hard work of volunteers and board members. A special thank you goes out to the following for their generosity and assistance: Kohl Wholesale, Orchard Hill Farm, DOT Foods, Angela Lummer-Rural Grace Designs, Mt. Sterling IGA, Sam’s Club, Hy-Vee, Butcher Block, Wal-Mart, Farm & Home, Wagner Market, Refreshment Services Pepsi, Columbus United Methodist Church, Union United Methodist Church, Camden United Methodist Church, Brooklyn United Methodist Church, Camp Point United Methodist Youth Group, Central Stone, Gary Welty Trucking, and Country Cousins 4-H Club. Watch for an even bigger event to be held next year!
