Local High School and Junior High Sports Update for Oct. 13, 2020

Cross Country

Monmouth Park was the site for a three school high school cross country meet between Monmouth-Roseville, Macomb and Farmington. Macomb’s Stan Melkumian won the boys race, with his teammate Ben LaPrad coming in second place. Monmouth-Roseville had the 3rd and 4th place finishers in Rafael Tomas Francisco and Joe Rivera Ruiz, respectively. Macomb won the team competition, with Monmouth-Roseville placing 2nd. Macomb also won the girls team title, with Monmouth-Roseville coming in 3rd. Macomb’s Olivia Bishop was the first girl to cross the finish line. Monmouth-Roseville’s top finisher was Rileigh Ewing in 6th.

The Abingdon-Avon and Bushnell-Prairie City, along with Havana, boys and girls cross country teams competed at Havana High School on Tuesday. No team scores were kept but Abingdon-Avon freshman boys runners Tyler Condreay and Micah Rodeffer placed 4th and 5th, respectively, individually. BPC’s Devin Suggitt was 3rd. The race was won by Havana’s Adam Bohm. Havana had the top four runners in the girls race, led by Kalei McDaniel. Abingdon-Avon has no girls runners this fall. BPC’s Avery Gullidge was the top placing Spartan in 5th.
