Margaret Ann Schisler, 83 of St. Augustine, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Aperion Care Galesburg North.

  She was born June 19, 1936 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Edith May (Jones) Allison.  She married Jack Schisler on September 25, 1953 in Monmouth.  He preceded her in death on July 30, 2006.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Dale Franklin, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Schisler.

  Margaret is survived by two sons, Dave (and Norma) Schisler of St. Augustine and Dan Schisler of St. Augustine; and one granddaughter, Lindsey (and Jason Peterson) Schisler of Avon.

  Margaret graduated from Abingdon High School.  She had lived in St. Augustine since 1956.  She worked as a cook and later in the Activity Department at the Avon Nursing Home.  She was a member of the St. Augustine Christian Church and served as the church pianist for several years.  She was very active in crafts and loved making Father Time Christmas Dolls.

  Cremation will be accorded.  Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel.  Rev. Rodney Fegan will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Private burial of her ashes will also be at a later date in the Babbitt Cemetery, rural St. Augustine.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, seating will be limited and face masks are required.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Augustine Christian Church or OSF Hospice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
