Penn State Hoops Coach Chambers Resigning

Share

Penn State men’s basketball coach Pat Chambers is resigning from the program. Multiple reports say Chambers has stepped away following an internal investigation on new allegations of inappropriate misconduct. Chambers resigned on Wednesday after a new accusation by former player Rasir Bolton that he made an inappropriate reference to a noose around a player’s neck. Bolton said he complained to the University at the time, but no action was taken, and he decided to transfer to Iowa State, where he received an honorable All-Big 12 mention. Chambers has spent the last nine years at Penn State, going 148-and-150. The Nittany Lions failed to reach the NCAA Tournament in each of his seasons at the helm, with their last trip back in 2010-11. Chambers will be replaced on an interim basis by assistant coach Jim Ferry.
