The West Central Conference boys championship meet was held at Arrowhead Heights Golf Course in Camp Point under windy, chilly conditions. The tournament featured two of the top Class 2A teams in the state of Illinois. Although Quincy Notre Dame came into the tourney as the defending champ, the Macomb Bombers had beaten the Raiders twice in the last two weeks. The third time was a charm as QND that came out on top on Wednesday. The Raiders win the West Central Conference by ten strokes over the Bombers, shooting a 334. It was the tenth straight conference title for Quincy Notre Dame. It was the first loss on the entire season for Macomb.
QND’s Alex McCulla is the individual champ, carding an amazing 3-under par 68 in miserable conditions. McCulla placed 2nd in the Class 2A state finals in 2019. Macomb’s Braeden Duncan was 2nd with a 79. Also making the All-Conference team was Connor Hamm and Jack Lockard with 88’s, Connor Watson with an 89 and Justice Keene with a 90. Monmouth-Roseville shot a team score of 429 and was led by Jack Thompson’s 102 and John Jusczcyk’s 105.
