94th State Representative Randy Frese says ethics reform is on the mind of elected officials in Springfield.
“We have too many of our elected officials taking advantage of their position. We need to draw hard and fast lines, clear black and white lines that they do not cross in the area of lobbying efforts. It has staggered me to know and maybe some listeners don’t know that as a State Representative, there are a number of State Representatives that are elected to serve that are also lobbyists in the City of Chicago. So they lobby the aldermen and women in Chicago and get paid quite handsomely for it. I think that is a terrible conflict. I would never consider being a lobbyist and trying to lobby the Monmouth City Council over the Quincy City Council or the Carthage City Council for something when I represent that area,” Frese reports.
Frese is running for re-election in the district as a Republican on the ballot while Angel Smith is running as the opponent on the Democratic ticket. He was raised on his family farm in Rural Illinois and previously served 8-years at the Adams County Circuit Clerk.
