Mrs. Shirley A. Kazmirski, 75, of Galesburg, Illinois died 6:20 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg. 

She was born June 20, 1945 in Galesburg to Charles Lee and Faye Herma (Larson) Jones.  She married Julius Gargano, Jr. June 14, 1964 in Abingdon, Illinois.  He preceded her in death.  She later married Allen Edward Kazmirski May 4, 1973 in Abingdon.  He Survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, Gerry Gargano of Poulsbo, Washington and Allen Paul (and Heather Pfeiffer) Kazmirski of Galesburg a daughter, Angela (and Chris) Hampton of Geneseo, Illinois, two brothers, Charles Edward (and Linda) Jones of Taylorville, North Carolina and William Lee Jones of Abingdon five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Alice Porter and a brother-in-law, Ronald Porter. 

Shirley graduated from Abingdon High School in 1963 and later graduated Brown’s Business College in Galesburg.   She was a custodian at Northgate Lanes for 17 years and then worked in laundry services at Marigold Nursing home for 17 years.  She retired in 2002.  She was a member of Abingdon Christian Church and was a 4-H leader for several years.  Shirley was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed reading.  She loved to bake and was a cake decorator. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A private graveside service will be at a later date in Abingdon Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family to establish and education fund for her grandchildren.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
