Thomas J. Moore, 69, of Monmouth, Il formerly of Alexis, IL passed away at 7:34 pm, Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Marigold Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL.

Tom was born August 21, 1951 in Monmouth, IL the son of Lawrence Lewis “Pete” and Barbara Evelyn (Frye) Moore.  He was raised and educated in Alexis, IL graduating from Alexis High School in 1969.

Tom served with the United States Army as a MP from 1972-1973.

Tom was an accomplished Hackney horse trainer. He worked for 15 years at the Seamair Farm in Santa Barbara, CA.  He later trained horses in Illinois, California and Florida.

He was a former member of the Alexis Presbyterian Church and the Alexis American Legion Post #189.

Survivors include his brother, Curtis (Jane) Moore of Oldsmar, Fl; his nephew, Jamie (Andrea) Moore of Spring Hill, FL; his niece, Sara Moore of Knoxville, Il; great nephews, Lance Moore and Tyler Peterson; great nieces, Jordan Moore and Paige Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parentsInterment services will take place in Alexis Cemetery, Alexis IL at a later date.  Memorials may be given to Thomas Moore Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.
