Alice “Augusta” Myers, 91, formerly of Woodhull, passed away with her family by her side, on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 1:42 pm, at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, IL.

Alice was born on September 21, 1929 in Trivoli, Illinois. She was the daughter of Merl and Inda (Haskins) Hahn. Alice married Forrest Eugene “Gene” Myers on February 26, 1949 in Galesburg, IL. Together, they celebrated 47 years of marriage. Alice is survived by her children, Becky (Tom) Nyman of Abingdon, IL, Debbie (Randy) Shreeves of Tuscola, IL and Terry (Tammi) Myers of Galesburg, IL; siblings, Ed (Mary) Hahn of Live Oak, FL, Dick (Eleanor) Hahn of Wataga, IL, Joyce (Gene) George of Live Oak, FL; sister-in-law, Beverly Hahn of Abingdon, IL; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings; Evelyn Davis, Jack Hahn and Hubert Hahn, her husband, Gene, her sons Gary and Robert Myers, and grandson Bobby Myers.

Alice graduated in Fairview, IL from Fairview High School. She worked as a cook and prepared food for the Knox College cafeteria in Galesburg, IL and later waitressed in Alpha at the diner. She was an independent consultant for Mary Kay and also sold Tupperware for a short time.  Alice worked at Pioneer in Woodhull for several years sorting corn and made many friends while there. Most importantly, Alice was a homemaker; She took great pride in her home, her children and her grandchildren. They were her greatest joys in life. She was very kind and loving person, a social butterfly, and never knew a stranger. Alice was a member of the United Church of Woodhull, where she participated in the choir, helped with bible school, and volunteered for events. She was also a member of the Galesburg Mother’s of Twins Club and the Red Hat Society. She loved to play BINGO and cards, work in the Garden and spent her time “OUTSIDE.”

She also loved to sing and dance, act silly and laugh, and have lots of fun in whatever she did.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM, at the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria, Illinois. Arrangements have been entrusted with Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, facemasks and social distancing will be required. Memorials contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
