Basketball Players and Parents of Catholic Schools Appealing Bishop to Allow Season

Basketball players and their parents in Catholic schools that are part of the Diocese of Peoria are appealing to the Bishop to let them play.  The Diocese announced last Monday that its high schools would not participate in the upcoming season.  A group of athletes and their parents from Bloomington Central Catholic and Peoria Notre Dame gathered on the steps of the diocese yesterday afternoon hoping to persuade the bishop to change his mind.  The diocese has not responded to the group’s efforts.
