Betty A. Gomer, 90, of Galesburg, died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Marigold Nursing and Rehab, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born October 6, 1930, in Tennessee, Illinois , the daughter of Cash and Sadie (McKee) Foster.

She is survived by four sons, Terry Ellis of Moscow Mills, Missouri, Gary Ellis of Peoria, Illinois, Jeff Gomer of Galesburg, Illinois, and Steve Gomer of Peoria, Illinois; two daughters-in-law, Gail Ellis and Dodie Gomer; grandchildren, Betty Jo (Jarrad) Martin, Robert (Mandy) Ellis, Amy (Brandon) Hulls, Stephanie Ellis, Hannah Ellis, Megan Gomer, Lauren Gomer, Kevin (Katie) Gomer, and Connor (Stephanie Bassi) Gomer; great-grandchildren, Beau Huffman, Dylan Ellis, Ethan Ellis, Brandon Skees, Trenton Skees, Kesi Fields, Xavier Campbell, J-Ruth Campbell, Evis Campbell, Terryauna Campbell, Daniel Love, Talan Love, Kayliana Bradford, Jonavan Harrell, Braydon Deweese, and Kennedi Deweese; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clifford Foster; and great-grandsons, Cedric Huffman and Elijah Ellis.

Betty was a hairdresser (including her own shop); owner of 7th. Ward and Labor Temple; and worked in sales at Zale’s, Seifert’s, and Bergner’s.  She retired from Bergner’s in 2013.  She was of the Methodist faith.

Cremation will be accorded.  Private family services will be held at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the Gordon Behrents Senior Center in Galesburg.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
