Douglas Eugene Anderson, Sr., of Dahinda, formerly of Kewanee, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at home.

Doug was born December 26, 1944 in Peoria, the son of Donald and Beulah (Bolin) Anderson.  He married Betty Jean Campbell on September 6, 2002 at Oak Run.  Betty survives.  Doug is also survived by two sons, Douglas Anderson, Jr. of Galesburg and Kevin (Patti) Anderson of Ft. Myers, FL; one daughter, Mari-Lynn (Kerry) Stevenson of Kewanee; two step sons, Mark (Ivy) Carns of Linesville, AL and Greg (Michelle) Carns of Galesburg; and one step daughter, Angie (Scott) Benson of Knoxville.  Doug is also survived by two brothers, David Anderson and Jim (Janice) Anderson both of Galva; one sister, Pat (Wayne) Thomson of Dahinda; 21 grandchildren; many great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, Doug was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Goodale; and an infant brother, Lawrence Anderson.

Doug worked as a machine operator for John Deere for 32 years.  He served as a union rep for UAW Local 865.  He was an avid golfer and worked as a golf ranger at Oak Run for several years after retirement.  He enjoyed spending time fishing.  Most of all, Doug loved being with his family and friends.

Cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of life will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Big Catz in Knoxville.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
