IHSA Vintage Volleyball State Championships Reflection Interviews Posted; Classic Games To Air Friday & Saturday, November 13-14

The IHSA and Country Financial launched the IHSA Vintage Games Series in September to help celebrate the amazing tradition and history of high school athletics in the state of Illinois.

The first goal of the COUNTRY Financial Vintage Games Series was to crown the top IHSA Girls Volleyball State Championship matches from four different eras (80’s, 90’s, 00’s, 10’s).

More than 31,000 votes were cast, revealing the four winning title matches below. Each of the classic matches will air on the NFHS Network on Friday and Saturday, November 13-14 via the schedule below. IHSA fans can relive classic contests in all sports on the IHSA’s Archive YouTube channel.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13
7:00 PM: 1981 Class AA Mother McAuley vs. Sandburg – WATCH
9:00 PM: 2008 Class 1A Eastland vs. A-C Central – WATCH


SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14
7:00 PM: 1996 Class AA Downers Grove South vs. Mother McAuley – WATCH
9:00 PM: 2010 Class 1A: Heyworth vs. Scales Mound – WATCH


Each of the special rebroadcasts will feature updated interviews with coaches and participants reflecting on their state final experiences.
