Share

In a press release from Knox College, Director of Athletics Daniella Irle has announced that Damon Tomeo will not be returning as the Knox College head football coach.

In the release Irle said, “Knox College Athletics is sincerely grateful to Damon Tomeo for all he has done for the football program. We wish him, his wife Carolyn, and his family all the best going forward; they will always be a part of the Prairie Fire family. Andy Gibbons, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, and former head football coach, will serve as Interim Director of Football Operations until a new head coach is named. Cory Bonstead has agreed to serve as the Director of Football Recruiting. Cory has been an essential part of our success with recruiting over the past few years, and he will help ensure a smooth transition for our current players and our recruits.”

A national search for a new head coach will begin soon. In December of 2012, Tomeo was announced as the 30th Head Football Coach in Knox College history. Tomeo’s overall record was 18-51 during his seven-year tenure.
