Robert B. Wilbur, 94, of Galesburg, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, November 26, 2020, in the Knox County Nursing Home.

He was born February 18, 1926 in Galesburg, the son of Robert H. and Ruth A. (Brock) Wilbur.  He married Dorothy M. Pouche on September 15, 1945 in Galesburg.  She preceded him in death on January 10, 2015 after more than 69 years of marriage.

He is survived by a son, Ronald Wilbur of Galesburg; a daughter, Bobbi (and Dan) McCulloch of Galesburg; two grandsons; two great grandchildren; one brother; and one sister.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a daughter-in-law; and a grandson. 

Bob lived all his life in Galesburg.  He worked as a welder for Rowe Manufacturing for 29 years and then later for Butler Manufacturing for 12 years.  He retired in 1989. 

He was inducted into the United States Army in 1946 and served in the Medical Corps.

He loved woodworking and fishing.

Cremation will be accorded.  Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 in East Linwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2211 N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707-3392 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 S.
