MACOMB, Ill. – Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Western Illinois women’s basketball team will now begin the 2020-21 season at the Compass Challenge on Dec. 4 against Southern Illinois.

The Leathernecks’ original opponent, Bellarmine, will engage in discussions with its first six opponents about the possibility of rescheduling games. Mid-December is the earliest the Knights anticipate being able to play.

The third annual Compass Challenge from Dec. 4-5, features all four cardinal direction schools — Eastern Illinois, Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Western Illinois — in Charleston, Ill.
