BOT Approves Presidential Contract

At today’s (Dec. 18) Western Illinois University Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved a two-and-a-half (2.5) year contract, which includes tenure within the Department of English and professional development, for WIU’s 12th President Guiyou Huang .

Huang’s salary was set at $320,000. The full contract is available in the Dec. 17-18 BOT meeting agenda at wiu.edu/bot.

The Board voted unanimously at a special meeting Nov. 16 to appoint Huang, president of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, as the University’s 12th president, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

In other business, the Board approved resolutions for a five-year $400,000 contract with Konica Minolta Business Solutions of Peoria for the University’s copier program; BOT review and approval of mandatory fees; a lease agreement with the Department of Human Services to rent space in Seal Hall on the Macomb campus; and BOT rules of order for discussion and action at Board meetings.

The next regularly scheduled Board meeting is scheduled for March 25-26, 2021 in the University Union Capitol Room.
