Charles E. “Bucky” Harris, 85, of Aledo, Illinois, formerly of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2020 at Mercer Manor.

He was born on September 1, 1935 in Monmouth, the son of Charles Ezert and Edna (Bixler) Harris. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, IL graduating from Monmouth High School.

Charles worked at the Illinois Department of Transportation Warren County Garage on the road crew.  He later worked Bowman’s Shoe Store for many years and Fullerton Lumber Company.

Charles enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and was a lifelong, die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. He loved playing his guitar and writing songs.

Survivors include his children, Ronnie Harris and Coty Van Meter; his sisters, Janet Brentise and Carol Reimolds both of Monmouth; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
