Fifth-ranked Illinois is in Indianapolis tonight take on the number-two ranked Baylor Bears at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in the Jimmy V Classic at 9:00 on ESPN. The Illini are 3-and-0 and Baylor is 2-and-0. Tonight marks Illinois’ first top-5 match-up since falling to North Carolina in the 2005 NCAA Championship game. Illinois’ Adam Miller has been named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week. Miller won the award after averaging 18 points in all three Illini wins last week. He set the Illini freshman-debut scoring record with 28 points versus North Carolina A&T last Wednesday.
Top-ranked Gonzaga (2-0) will face off with #11 West Virginia (3-0) in the first game of the night at 6:00 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Gonzaga blew out Auburn 90-67 on Friday night in their last outing. West Virginia struggled with Western Kentucky before getting a 70-64 victory on Friday, as well.
