Larry Lance, age 70, died Friday, November 6, 2020 at Community Care Center in Monmouth.

Larry was born on December 2, 1949 in Benton the son of Herman and Ella Mae (Britton) Lance. He graduated from Polo High School, Polo, Illinois and University of Illinois in Champaign- Urbana.  Larry was employed as a Special Education Teacher in Lyndon for many years and as a substitute teacher in the Monmouth School District before retirement. He was an avid gardener, loved reading, music and studying family genealogy.

Survivors include one sister, Gayla (Robert) Colbert of Shannon; one sister-in-law, Benita Lance of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews as well as great and great, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Billy Edward Lance.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.  Private graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling at a later date.
