Long time principal at the Monmouth-Roseville Junior High, Don Farr, will be retiring on December 31st of this year. Superintendent Ed Fletcher shared Mr. Farr will be presented with a plague to recognize his service and dedication in the district:

“We got him a plague to recognize his twenty-four and a half years of service in the school district. In regards to Mr. Farr, you name it, he’s done it. We are going to miss him. He is a leader of the administrative team for the principals. He is very involved in the Illinois Principals Association. It is a great group for principals to learn in professional development and such. We will miss him, but he’s moving on to bigger and better things. I’m sure we will still see him around.”

Mr. Farr was the principal at the Junior High for twenty-one of his twenty-four and a half years in the district.

Statement from the Monmouth-Roseville School District congratulating Mr. Don Farr on his retirement:

Congratulations to Monmouth-Roseville Jr. High Principal Don Farr on his retirement. Don’s career as a teacher and administrator began as a teacher at Avon High School in 1990. In 1996, he joined the staff at Monmouth High School teaching Social Studies. His administrative career began at Harding Elementary in 1997, took him to Central Junior High in 2000 and eventually led him to Monmouth-Roseville Junior High in 2005.

Don has been and continues to be a mentor for many. His passion for education is undeniable. Although he won’t be walking the halls and occupying the admin seat at MRJHS come January, he will always be part of Titan Nation and the MRJHS family.

Thank you Mr. Farr for your dedication and passion. You will most definitely be missed; however, we wish you all the best in your retirement. A public retirement party is being planned for later spring.
