Galesburg Cottage Hospital and Cottage Clinics will begin COVID-19 vaccinations of seniors – an age group especially hard-hit by COVID, available on a first come, first serve basis at a Cottage Clinic location beginning next week for all those age 65 plus with State of Illinois legal identification.
On Thursday, January 21st and Friday, January 22nd, the Cottage Infection Control Team will begin vaccinating patients on a walk-in basis only at a Cottage clinic office to be located in Suite 106 of the Cottage Medical Office Building at 834 N Seminary Street, Galesburg during the hours of 8:00AM through 11:00AM and from 1:00PM through 4:00PM.
Additionally, all current Cottage clinic patients age 65 and older will be notified of the walk-in clinic where the first round of the Moderna vaccination will be administered, with the second round to occur 28 days later.
We take the health of our patients, visitors and employees very seriously. Vaccination patients will enter the front doors of the Cottage Medical Office Building located at 834 N. Seminary Street where a ceiling-mounted infrared camera unit will measure each person’s body temperature and our medical screening personnel will complete the COVID19 screening process. These community infection control steps will help ensure a healthyvaccination process for all.
We plan to vaccinate as many people as quickly as possible in an orderly fashion utilizing the walk-in clinic model. More clinics will be scheduled after supplies are determined.
All those being vaccinated will need to sign the required forms in a socially distanced waiting room prior to vaccination in the clinic office.
After being vaccinated, the senior patient will be required to wait in our socially distanced waiting room under supervision for fifteen minutes to ensure the vaccination safety.
Each person vaccinated will receive a card with the vaccination recorded along with date and time.
Those vaccinated will be notified to schedule their second installment of the Moderna vaccine in 28 days.
