EQUIP Applications Due This Friday

Share

New Year brings new program deadlines with the NRCS office. District Conservationist Cathy Froelich breaks down the upcoming application deadlines:

“EQUIP applications. Applications are due by this Friday, January 8th. If you are interested and have some conservation work that we have done some planning with already on, make sure you come and see me before Friday. CSP applications do not have a deadline yet. That is the Conservation Stewardship Program. If you are interested in doing that, you need to make an appointment, I will come out to the farm. It is about an hour interview where we get to know your operation, explain the program, see if you are interested, then what you want to do in the future with it. Then ASEP, which is the Wetland Preserve Program, that application is due February 5th. If you have some areas that are hydric, have a wetland causing you problems year after year, or you can’t farm it, this is the program that we need to sign you up in.”

Meanwhile on the Farm Service Agency side, general CRP sign-up is underway until February 12th.
