Through the partnership with the Community Health Foundation, Monmouth College is sorting out the final details in administering the saliva based SHIELD IL COVID testing on campus. President Dr. Clarence Wyatt shares there are two aspects in distributing the tests on campus and the Monmouth community:
“Really there are two aspects to this. We are going to be testing all the employees and all of the students that return to campus later this month for a first wave in seeing where we are in terms of the virus as we return physically to campus. For the remainder of the semester, we will undertake a program of mitigation testing. We are getting advice from the SHIELD IL folks and our local OSF HealthCare partners and others in terms of what makes sense of a program of mitigation testing, random testing, throughout the remainder of the semester. Then tests will be available to the community. They will be able to come into the location that we establish on campus. We will have set hours and set location.”
Monmouth College will receive 5,000 SHIELD IL saliva tests initially for the campus and community.
