Monmouth Rotary Club Involved Locally and Globally

Share

Service above self is the motto of the Rotary Club locally and worldwide. The Monmouth Rotary Club last year participated in several community service projects, including socks and underwear donations to Jamieson Community Center, raising funds for new swing set equipment, and donations to local schools. Not only is the Rotary Club invested locally, but globally as well, shares Amber Wood, Public Relations Committee Co-Chair and Vice President:

“Rotary has several different key areas that they focus on with their projects. Promoting peace around the globe and fighting disease. You may be familiar with Rotary’s goal to eradicate polio. Another key area is providing clean water and sanitation and hygiene around the globe as well. Other areas include saving mothers and children, supporting education, which we do locally as well as globally, growing local economies by helping to find farming and other ways in communities in third world countries that maybe struggle. Also, protecting the environment and Rotary also has an arm in disaster response. You can touch the world in so many ways through Rotary.”

The Monmouth Rotary Club currently has 60 members.
