Sandra Kay Haynes, 74, of Galesburg, passed away at 5:24 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Kay was born March 29, 1946 in Galesburg, the daughter of Berwyn L. and Helen L. (Lankford) Haynes.  Kay graduated from Avon High School and Brown’s Business College in Galesburg.  She went on to work at OMC Gale Products and eventually retired from Gates Rubber Company.

Kay is survived by one sister, Peggy Kilpatrick of Galesburg; two brothers, David (Sarah) Haynes of Canton and Roger Haynes of Galesburg; one nephew, William Haynes; and one niece, Jennifer Haynes.  Kay was preceded in death by her parents.

Growing up Kay was active in 4-H showing sheep for several years.  She also enjoyed crafting.

Cremation will be accorded.  No services are planned.  Private interment of cremated remains will be at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made in Kay’s memory to the Guardian Angels Humane Society.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
