Shirley J. Park, 62, of Joliet, formerly of Galesburg, died at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in AMITA Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

She was born September 30, 1958, in Galesburg.  She was the daughter of Earl G. and Carolyn (Swartz) Park Jr.

She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Park of Galesburg; a brother, Robert M. (Debbra) Park of East Peoria; an uncle, Rev. Gary (Marlene) Park of Rockford; and aunt, Virginia Park Porter of Blaine, Minnesota; and several cousins.  Her father preceded her in death.

Shirley graduated from Galesburg High School in 1976, where she was highly involved with the music program through band and choir.  She attended Carl Sandburg College and graduated from Augustana College, where she was a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity for Women.  Shirley was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Galesburg.  She worked for many years as office supervisor at Advance Disposal Services in Batavia, Illinois.

Cremation will be accorded.  No visitation or service is planned.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Knox County Humane Society.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is honored to serve the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
