Valentine’s for Seniors

Share

You can share some love this Valentine’s Day and be a Senior’s Valentine. The Galesburg Parks and Recreation is collecting and will be delivering cards to all residents in assisted living and nursing home facilities in Galesburg. Lauren Dynes-Gillespie shares how to become involved:

“You can first make your own at home with your own supplies and just drop them off by February 8th to us and we will distribute them for you. The second way is if you don’t want to make your own, but want to help us out, you can donate $10 and the staff will make ten for you. Then we also have the option where you can pay $5 and come and pick up a take home kit where we supply a bunch of craft supplies: construction paper, glue, crayons, pretty much the whole nine yards for you to take home and you get to make your own Valentines.”

Kits to make the Valentine’s need to be picked up by February 2nd and the drop-off deadline for all completed Valentine’s Day cards is February 8th.
