West Harlem Reconstruction in Beginning Stages

Share

The City of Monmouth has submitted their Project Development Report for the West Harlem Avenue re-construction project to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the first requirement for accessing federal funding. Communications Director Ken Helms explains the next steps:

“The next step in that is all the affected residents and commercial properties that are along the area will be notified and have a chance to see the conceptual plan because we are going to be doing quite a bit of upgrades to Harlem Avenue at that point. It will have sidewalks and different things like that, so they will get to see the plan and give any kind of public comment that they want on there for consideration.”

Installing a pedestrian crossing light at the new pool is a part of the construction plan as well.
