Chargers’ Wilson Leads All Players With 14 in Road Loss

Canton, IL – Sophomore Jean Luc Wilson (East Moline, Ill./United Township) had a game-high 14 points, but the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team dropped a 75-57 decision at Spoon River on Saturday afternoon.

Wilson scored 10 of his 14 in the first half for the Chargers (1-2), who trailed the Snappers 34-25 at the break.

Sophomore Brock Bower-Preece (Mapleton, Ill./Illini Bluffs) added 10 points for Sandburg. Vaughn Toyne (Petersburg, Ill./PORTA) and Griffin Ronnebeck (East Moline, Ill./United Township) each scored nine for Sandburg. Ronnebeck’s points came on the strength of three 3-pointers.

Micale Mee and Dalliss Cox each scored 12 points to pace Spoon River.

UP NEXT FOR SANDBURG
6 p.m. March 4 at Highland. The Chargers’ game scheduled for Thursday at home against Milwaukee Area Tech has been postponed.
