Cheryl Ellen Shepherd, 80, of Springfield, passed away on February 20, 2021 at her residence. She was born on November 5, 1940 in Quincy, Illinois to James Turner Foley and Agnes Wingerter Foley. Cheryl married Olin Duff Shepherd on June 5, 1960 in Quincy and he survives.

Mrs. Shepherd is also survived by two children: Carrie Lynn (David) Andel of Athens, and Michael Duff Shepherd of Monmouth, two sisters: Annabel L. (R. Louis) Cookson and Amy L. (B.J.) Taylor both of Springfield, five grandchildren: Sam, Jack and Ellyn Andel and Corbin and Tucker Shepherd, two great-grandchildren: Raegan Andel and Sawyer Shepherd and her mother Agnes Foley.

Cheryl worked as a secretary at the First Baptist Church in Monmouth, Illinois and as a secretary for the family business Keister’s also located in Monmouth. She was an avid reader, cook and basketball fan. Cheryl loved animals and rescued many. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to entertain and she treasured her time spent with her family especially her children and grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3:00pm – 6:00pm on Friday March 5, 2021 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road in Springfield.
