CRP sign-up with the Farm Service Agency ends Friday, February 12th. District Conservationist Cathy Froelich reports there is a lot of paperwork so don’t wait until the last minute:
“Take some time. Really to be safe, if you are interested in CRP, you really need to come in and get things taken care of that Wednesday, just to make sure everything is done by that Friday. It is a good program. If you have odd areas that are hard to manage, hard to plant, a lot of in and out, if it is highly erodible land, come in and sign up. Seed it down and make your job a little bit easier planting.”
On the NRCS side, the deadline for EQUIP is February 26th and applications for the Conservation Stewardship Program are still being accepted.
