Linda L. Barr, 79, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 1:31 am, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Lutheran Hillside Village, Peoria, IL.
Linda was born June 15, 1941 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Donald E. and Nedra E. (White) Baldridge. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1959. She later graduated from Western Illinois University in 1990 with a degree in Kinesiology.
Linda married Robert Barr in Monmouth on June 30, 1962.
Linda was a homemaker while raising her children. Following earning her degree from Western Illinois University she assisted area doctors with cardiac rehabilitation. She later worked as a lab tech and medical assistant at the Knox County OBGYN.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Monmouth and worked as Director of Missions for several years. She enjoyed painting and using her photography skills to make greeting cards. She was very devoted to caring for her family, taking care of her mother for many years following her father’s passing.
Survivors include her children, Trisha Barr of Metamora, IL and David (Lori) Barr of LaGrange, GA; 5 grandchildren, Abby (Jacob) Klein of Volo, IL, Matthew (Madison) Barr of Smyrna, GA, Josh Webb of Athens, GA, Kendall Anderson of Valley, AL and Payton (Brandy) Barr of LaGrange, GA; great grandson, Carter Anderson; 1 nephew and 2 nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Skip Baldridge.Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Open calling hours will be Tuesday, February 16, 2021 from 9:00 – 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all attendees are required to wear a mask and social distance.
