After an issue with a positive covid test just before their schedule began, the Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys basketball team finally got a chance to get their season started. The Titans hosted West Hancock at Monmouth-Roseville and got off to a great start, leading 21-9 at the end of the first quarter. Monmouth-Roseville turned West Hancock over multiple times in the first eight minutes, with many of those turned into points. Quincy Talivaa scored eight points in the first period, on his way to a game-high 23 points for the night. Ben Anderson put up eight points of his own in the second period, as Monmouth-Roseville took a 45-20 lead into the halftime break. An 8-0 run by West Hancock cut the lead to 17 points early in the third quarter but Monmouth-Roseville got their offense back on track and led 62-34 after three quarters. Early in the fourth quarter, Monmouth-Roseville opened up a 30 point lead to start the mercy-rule, running clock and the final score read 70-42. Four Monmouth-Roseville players ended up in double figures. Joining Talivaa with 23 was Jack Thompson with 12, Anderson with 11 and Connor Thompson with ten.
