Ruth “Nadine” Hume, 82, of Macomb passed away at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born on March 20, 1938 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Walter W. and Lillie B. Rhoads Volkers. She married Cloyd Hume.
She is survived by two daughters, Renee (Scott) Sims of Macomb and Michelle (Brendan) Marshall of Monmouth; four grandchildren, Rebecca Sims, Lauren Sims, Austin Marshall and Emma Marshall; one sister, Victoria E. (Jim May) Volkers of Marshall, Illinois; one brother, David W. (Marie) Volkers of Galesburg and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lou Ada Tennell and several nieces and nephews.
Nadine was a career educator with fond memories of her years at Macomb High School and Robert Morris College. She ended her career as an educator at Western Illinois Regional Council.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family Celebration of Life and private family burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
