Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Stolen Property Arrests in Henderson County

Henderson County Sheriff Donald Seitz releases that a traffic stop leads to stolen property and drug arrests. On Monday, February 1st, 2020 at 7:50am, a Deputy stopped a pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer with a backhoe east of Oquawka, IL on IL 164. The Deputy noticed multiple violations and knew the driver to be wanted on warrants. The driver, Cody A. Jones, age 33 of Oquawka was arrested on a $10,000 Henderson County warrant for Failure to Appear on multiple charges and $3,000 Mercer County warrant for Retail Theft. The Deputy checked the trailer and the backhoe and found them to be stolen. The trailer was stolen from Coralville, IA. The backhoe was stolen from Warren County. A search of the truck discovered drug paraphernalia, 23 grams of cannabis, and 43 grams of methamphetamine. In addition to the warrant arrests, Jones was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver (Class X Felony, punishable by 6 to 30 years) and Possession of Stolen Property $10,000 to $100,000 in value (Class 2 Felony, punishable 3 to 7 years). Jones’ bond for those charge was set at $150,000. Also arrested was Matthew S. Millage, age 45 of Keithsburg, IL. Millage is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver (Class X Felony, punishable 3 to 7 years). Millage’s bond was set at $75,000. Additional charges may be filed later. Jones and Millage are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
