United FFA Chapter Celebrates National FFA Week

Share

It’s National FFA week. A time to share what FFA is and the impact it has on the members and community every day. United FFA Chapter President Tyler Barrington shares what inspired him to become involved in FFA:

“I just always knew that I wanted to be in FFA. My dad was an FFA member and I went to banquets with him when I was younger, so it was just something I always knew that I wanted to do. When I got into high school it was just something I was going to be involved with. I already knew that. Throughout the past four years I have had a lot of fun just going to contests and working with my friends in FFA.”

United FFA Chapter Vice President Bridget Brokaw shared FFA is more than just agricultural, it helps prepare members for the future:

“I got into FFA kind of by happenstance. One of the seniors at the time really convinced me to join and I said I would give it a try and it has been one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life. I really love it. I also had trouble with public speaking as a younger kid and I don’t actually plan on going into agriculture, but it has been the one thing I have done in high school that has prepared me the most for life, interview experience, for getting a job, it’s really shaped me into an all-around better person.”

The United High School FFA Chapter has around 50 members.
