SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After setting the Western Illinois single-game scoring record and tying The Summit League single-game record, Grace Gilmore was named Co-Player of the week, the league office announced on Monday (Feb. 8).
The senior scored 46 points on Saturday in Omaha, which is the most by a league player this season and the second-most in NCAA Women’s Basketball this year. Gilmore knocked down a career-high six three-pointers and added 10 points from the free-throw line. She tied the Summit League record by Keni Jo Lippe of Oral Roberts, who set the mark last season.
Gilmore followed up the record night with 11 points on Sunday for her 13th double-digit performance of the season. She concluded the weekend with 57 total points, eight three-pointers, and nine assists.
The award is the first of her career as the other Summit League Co-Player of the week was Myah Selland of South Dakota State.
WIU returns to Western Hall one last time this season with the host of Denver on Friday (Feb. 12) and Saturday (Feb. 13).
