With a Modified Basketball Season Ahead, High School Coaches are Taking a Different, Yet Same, Approach

Share

High school basketball will be starting up around our listening area very soon, as will basketball broadcasts on the Prairie Communications Sports Network. There will be no postseason for boys and girls basketball and probably not many conference tournaments, as well. Barring any weather or any covid situations arising, most, in not all, area conferences will crown a regular season champion. With all of that being said, coaches around the state have had to adjust their team goals for their ball clubs this winter.

United High School boys basketball coach Doug Dennison says his attitude and goals for the Red Storm have certainly changed but it’s still competition, and that usually brings out the best in players.

The Red Storm boys basketball team is scheduled to start their modified season on Friday with a road game at Riverdale.

The Red Storm girls basketball team will start on Saturday afternoon with a Lincoln Trail Conference road game at ROWVA/Williamsfield. The Red Storm boys will also start LTC play with a late afternoon game on Saturday at ROWVA/Williamsfield, as well.
