Alcohol Sales Shot Up 55% a Year Ago This Week

Share

Retail alcohol sales are dropping for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began.  According to data from Nielsen, total sales declined one-point-nine-percent for the week of March 13th.  This time a year ago, alcohol sales shot up by 55-percent as stay-at-home orders were implemented across the U.S.  That trend appears to be fading as more restaurants and bars open up due to increased vaccine distribution and case numbers starting to subside.
