Andy Joe Annegers, age 62, of rural Gladstone, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in a traffic accident in Lee County, Iowa.  He was born Nov. 10, 1958 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Marilon McCollum Annegers.  On December 15, 1978, he married Sharon Mills.  They later divorced.  On January 26, 2005, he married Linda Rider in Fort Mohave, Arizona.

Joe was a graduate of Southern High School in Stronghurst. He had been employed at Alexander Lumber, Midwest Biscuit Company, Geode Genetics, Huffman’s Farm & Home, and he and his family operated the Feed Store restaurant near Biggsville, Illinois for a time.  He retired in 2017 from Huffman’s,  and then raised cattle for a few years.  He coached softball and baseball when his children were involved.  He loved hunting and fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his friends and family.   He loved running his trot lines and bank poles on the Mississippi river,  then delivering his fresh catfish fillets to friends throughout the area.

Joe  had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. He lived life to it’s fullest.   He always had a story to share, a prank to pull, or a funny meme to forward, and was always available to help anyone in need.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife; Linda, his mother; Marilon (Robert Johnson) Stewart of Carman, IL, three daughters; Amanda (Tony) Bolte of Macomb, IL, Alicia (Chad) Anderson of Stronghurst, IL, Whitney Finley of Biggsville, IL, one son; Adam (Melanie) Annegers of Carthage, IL, two stepsons; Zachary Ream of Burlington, IA, Seth Ream of Denver, CO, seven grandchildren; Kelsey, Jordan, and Brennan Bolte, Schelby and Aiden Annegers, Bradon Annegers, Carter Joe Annegers, and one sister; Anne (Maurice) Smith of Gladstone, IL.  He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather; Leslie Stewart, one sister; Nancy Lee Annegers, one brother; R. Leon Annegers Sr, one half brother; Mason Stewart, and several aunts and uncles.

Friends may call after Noon on Sunday March 7, 2021 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M.  COVID-19 restrictions will be observed.  A private family service will be held Tuesday at Banks & Beals with burial to follow in Carman Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established for West Central Athletic Association, Biggsville, IL.  Please visit Joe’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
