Beverly A. Ballard, 85, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Serenity of Lake Storey, Galesburg, IL.  

She was born on August 12, 1935 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of John M. and Mary E. (Lingafelter) Stivers.  Beverly was a lifelong member of the Monmouth community. Following an initial retirement from Wilson Foods she returned to college and obtained her degree in early childhood development. 

She was employed at Lutheran Day Care in Monmouth for a number of years and following retirement from there she continued with active involvement in the VFW AUX, the Red Hat Society and other community interests. 

Those who knew Beverly, knew her as an outgoing person, who had a great sense of humor, loved to chat and always laughing. Beverly was a very kind hearted person, well thought of in the community and will be sadly missed. 

Surviving Beverly are her children, Robert Ballard, Jr., Darrell Ballard, and Rhonda Ballard, all of Texas.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her Parents, two brothers, Wendall E. Stivers, James D. Stivers; one sister, Deborah S. Dycus; and one grandson, Eric D. Ballard. 

Following cremation, there will be private family services held in Texas. In lieu of cards and flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Lutheran Day Care Center in Monmouth in the name of “Miss Beberly” as her kids always called her.  Please make checks payable to the “Lutheran Day Care” and send to 116 South B Street. Monmouth IL. 61462.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
