Jamieson Community Center Receives a Permanent Endowment from the Pattee Foundation for their Learning Center

The Jamieson Community Center board has approved a gift from the Pattee Foundation which will permanently endow their Learning Center. The Learning Center assists children in first through sixth grades on reading, writing, math, and stem activities. Executive Director Nancy Mowen states the Pattee’s gift will help to change the lives of children in the community:

“We have a set curriculum that is very structured, very intentional and our children make great progress. We have had graduates and they don’t graduate until they are hitting all standards for their grade level, which is a hard measure to hit. We do not cut them loose until they are at that level. We’ve had quite a few graduates now and we have been able to follow them for a few years. That success has transitioned into not only academic success, but the schools and the parents both report that their children have higher self-esteem and they are working better with other students. It is truly life changing.”

Mowen shares Jamieson Center has been able to offer the Learning Center to the community since 2017 as the Pattee Foundation provided funds to initially launch the program.
