Lynn David Olson, 60, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 21, 2021 at home.

Lynn was born April 28, 1960 in Galesburg, the son of Merion David and Carol Louise (Thurman) Olson.  After graduating from high school he enlisted in the US Marine Corp.  He was honorably discharged to come home to help care for his ailing father.  Lynn worked for many years at Gates Rubber CO.  He later owned and operated Olson’s small engine repair and has spent the past 3 years working at People’s Hardware in Galesburg. 

Lynn is survived by one daughter, Sarah (Tim) Cissell of Colorado Springs, CO; his mother, Carol Olson of Galesburg; one sister, Cathy S. (Bruce) Phillips of Portland, IN; and two granddaughters, Mikaela and Emelie Cissell.  He is also survived by two nieces, Charissa (Travis) Hambrock and Stephanie Metz.  Lynn is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Gregory A. Olson in 1996.

Lynn was extremely mechanically inclined and loved working with his hands.  He loved his two dogs, Candy and Doc.

Cremation has been accorded.  A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
