Marilyn D. Hendrickson, 74, of Galesburg, died at 12:25 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital after a short illness.

She was born in Colchester Township on July 15, 1946, the daughter of Damon O. and Mary V. (Mecum) McCord. She married Robert A. Hendrickson on August 9, 1963, in Macomb. He preceded her in death February 1, 2018.

She is survived by four children, R. Todd (Christine) Hendrickson of Galesburg, Tara K. Hendrickson of Galesburg, Tyler S. (Emily) Hendrickson of Sachse, Texas, and Spencer JD (Shyanne) Hendrickson of Galesburg; 13 grandchildren, Samuel, Taylor, Dallas, Dan, William, Jesse, Madeline, Giselle, William, Wyatt, Amelia, Boyd, and Wryn; two great grandchildren, Gordon and Elsie; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald R. McCord; and a sister, Patsy M. Nelson.

Marilyn was raised and educated in the Colchester area. She had lived in Galesburg since 1973. She was a homemaker, concentrating on raising and caring for her family. She sold Home Interiors for a few years, which fit in with her love of decorating. Marilyn enjoyed painting, flower gardening, and her cats and dogs. She enjoyed genealogy, learning about family history, and organizing family photo albums. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
